About the Presenter:
Eduardo Fernandez, M.D., Ph.D., Board Certified in Radiation Oncology, was awarded his medical degree from the University of Malaga (Spain) in 1987. He was Assistant and Associate Professor of Radiology and Medical Physics at his home university. In 1991 he defended a Doctoral Thesis about the molecular biology aspects of Photodynamic Therapy, and was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the University of Malaga. He completed his Radiation Oncology Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Fernandez served as the Head of Radiation Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, and also had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic main campus in Ohio. He is currently a Radiation Oncologist with 21st Century Oncology and is Chief of Radiation Oncology at the Aventura Comprehensive Cancer Center in Aventura, Florida. Dr. Fernandez is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the American College of Radiology, and many other American and European professional organizations. Dr. Fernandez has written and published two Doctoral Theses, numerous book chapters and articles in the field of Radiation Oncology in several languages. He has lectured on a host of cancer topics in America and Europe.
